Heartland Horrors Coming to DVD

As our regular readers are no doubt aware, one of Dread Central’s missions is to do everything we can to help promote the independent horror filmmakers out there … wherever they may be. And one of the best hails from, of all places, Lawrence, Kansas.
If you’re not familiar with the name Patrick Rea, you soon will be. His first feature film, The Empty Acre (review), showed a lot of promise, but it’s his shorts that have really captured my attention. On October 9th everyone else will have a chance to see what I mean when Heartland Horrors, a collection of just about all the shorts Patrick has been involved with over the past three years, is released on DVD. Among the films to be found on the disc are “Woman’s Intuition” and “Café at the Crossroads” (review). Not included, however, is “Emergency Preparedness,” which you can only see here on Dread Central in our Broadband section.
