Hayek Signs Up for Freak
The cast for Cirque du Freak, the Paul Weitz-helmed adaptation of Darren Shan’s YA book series, just got a whole lot sexier. Not that I have anything against John C. Reilly (“Reily Vamps Out” – November 2007); Salma Hayek is just much easier on the eyes.
Variety reports that Hayek has signed on for Cirque de Freak, specifically in the role of the bearded lady. The story follows Reilly's character, an ancient vampire who drafts a 14-year old to be his assitant, turning him into a half-vampire. Eventually the boy becomes the catalyst in a battle between bloodsuckers and something called the Vampanese.
The role of the bearded lady probably won’t be Hayek at her Deseperado-era best, but it is her first role since taking a maternity leave, and you know what? I bet she’ll still be hot, beard and all. Production on Cirque du Freak begins next month.
Wonder if you'd still find Hayek hot with a mustache in the Dread Central forums!
