Gunnar's New Massacre

In some of the strangest news I’ve ever seen in Variety, it was reported this morning that Gunnar Hansen will be taking on a staring role in a whole new Massacre movie.

Don’t worry, it’s not another Platinum Dunes cash-in, er, remake; in fact it’s coming our way from Icelandic director Julius Kemp. Iceland isn’t exactly well known for their horror output, so maybe this is the kind of crossover they need.

The movie is called Reykjavik Whale Watching Massacre, of course, and is only described as a cross between The Blair Witch Project, The Evil Dead and obviously, Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

To be more specific, the film is about a group of whale watchers whose boat breaks down in the middle of the Icelandic Ocean and find themselves being picked off by Fishbillies (those on a whale fishing vessel) because, apparently, they’re insane. No word on if Gunnar will play a tourist or a fishbilly, but we can hope for the latter.
