I feel really bad for people in other countries, but I guess since technically this is our fault the guilt is well founded.
Though originally the Weinstein Co. had plans to keep Grindhouse as one full movie in the UK when it’s released there this June, they’ve officially decided after the disastrous business it did here to split the films according to Variety. But wait, there’s worse news.
Those in the UK have a long time left to wait, too. Death Proof won’t be out until September 21st from Momentum, likely to give them plenty of time to market the film on its own. The release for Rodriguez’s Planet Terror hasn’t yet been given a date.
So I guess we were the only ones who will get the films as the filmmakers wanted us to — as one complete experience. By the time it’s out in the UK it’ll definitely be on DVD here in the US, too, also as separate movies. So if you did get out there and see it while it was in cinemas as one movie, you’ll be able to tell your grandchildren about it one day, because we were obviously the last.
