Going to Pieces Disc

ThinkFilm has just announced a March 20th release date for Going to Pieces: The Rise & Fall of the Slasher Film, which hopefully you all got a chance to see when it premiered on Starz a few months back.

Directed by Jeff McQueen and based on the book of the same name by Adam Rocoff, Going to Pieces is an in-depth look at the subgenre that has, fortunately or unfortunately, come to best represent horror to the masses: the slasher movie. Interviews with everyone from John Carpenter to Wes Craven to Rob Zombie are used to trace the history of the slasher in American cinema and its influences on film.

The only features announced for the DVD are commentary by the filmmakers and a trailer gallery, but damn it’d be nice to see a bit more. I’m sure like most documentaries there’s a ton of unused footage that the fans would gobble up, for example!
