Free Dark Tower

Though it’s been quiet for a while now, things are steadily moving forward on the upcoming Gunslinger comic series, and Lilja’s Library just got word from Bev Vincent that we’ll get a taste of the book very soon. And it won’t cost us a dime.

Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born Sketchbook will be out soon, featuring character designs, penciled pages, and commentary, serving as an overall primer for the world of The Dark Tower; and it will wonderfully, gloriously free. Unfortunately there’s no solid word on when it will be out, but the first issue of the Gunslinger Born series will be out in February of 2007. Artist Jae Lee is currently hard at work on the fifth issue of the series, which Marvel will be pushing in a big way next year.

Peter David has scripted the first seven issues of the series, which takes place in the time before the events that take place in the first Dark Tower book, The Gunslinger. February may be closer than we like to believe (especially those of us in New England), but damn it still feels like a long ways away...
