It’s official: Hell has frozen over.
Spanish madman Alex de la Iglesia (the warped genius behind Day of the Beast and Perdita Durango) is hard at work on his English-language debut… and he’s no longer going for laughs.
Principal photography on The Oxford Murders (which we last told you about here) is under way in Europe, starring Elijah Wood and John Hurt as a student/professor team who investigate a series of brutal slayings linked by mathematical symbols. A few stills have drifted in under the radar and, while they’re not too exciting, still manage to give us our first glimpse of the leads. It’ll be interesting to see what attracted Iglesia (and long-time collaborator Jorge Guerricaechevarria) to the project, but rest assured, this is one to keep an eye on!
