Though they’re not the most exciting pics to hit the ‘net, that honor would belong to any semi-nude shots of Salma Hayek, it’s good to see that Steve Miner’s remake of Day of the Dead is coming out of the gate with its guts swinging.
Here you see one of three photos from the set of the new Day courtesy of our Canadian brethren at Movies Online.ca. Pictured is Christa Campbell getting ready for her close-up, which apparently requires her to be quite dead. Hit the link, and you can also see Ving Rhames in his camos, filling the role once owned by Joe Pilato, that of Captain Rhodes.
Arguably the best of Romero’s Dead films, to see Day being remade is still a bit unbelievable to me, despite the success of Zack Snyder’s Dawn redux. If you’re still not convinced of the validity of any and all remakes in our beloved genre, allow me to point you to our man Corey Hughes’ first Bark at the Moon column, which already has already spurred a healthy debate in our forums.
