Finally, after years of waiting and wondering, someone is getting off their ass and making a series effort to create a Ghostbutsters video game.
Daily Variety reports this morning that Vivendi Games have teamed with Sony Pictures and launched plans for the first of what they hope to be a series of games based on the characters made famous by the 1985 movie. The game, which is currently without a title, will take place in the 90’s, after the events of Ghostbusters II (which are better left unspoken of) and will feature the voice and likeness off all four principals; Ernie Hudson, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd.
Terminal Reality (Aeon Flux, Bloodrayne 2) are working on the game for Xbox 360, PC and PS3, while Red Fly Studios (Mushroom Men) will turn out a version for PS2, Wii and DS, which will be aimed more directly at the younger demographic.
Hopefully, considering the talent behind these new games, we will be able to wash the tatste of past Ghostbusters video games out of our mouths and experience a legitimate franchise extension. Keep it here for more as we learn it!
