Fido Slaughters the Class Cutters

Jay Lee’s The SlaughterWhat I like more than poisoning candy with pictures of Hillary Clinton during Halloween are the massive amounts of DVDs that pour into the stores (Halloween Comes Early From MGM – July 18, 2007).

Fangoria got some dirty details about a trio of films that are set to hit DVD soon: Fido, Cutting Class and The Slaughter. Information and DVD art are not available yet, but street dates are; the first two films are set for release on October 23rd while The Slaughter will be missing Halloween and knocking on our door come the 6th of November.

The most anticipated of these has to be Fido (review). The fact that it was not given a theatrical run similar to Skinwalkers (review) is a shame … because Fido was actually a good movie. Make sense, no?

The 80s slasher pic Cutting Class escapes my memory. What is easy to remember is that it starred a young Brad Pitt and the superiorly talented Roddy McDowall. This is the first time Rospo Pallenberg’s film is being released officially on DVD.

And then we have Jay Lee’s The Slaughter. This is a brand new film with the age old plot of coeds in peril. Being the Baron of bad direct-to-video films, right after Foy, this one looks better than most. You can check out the official site of the movie or just jump right into the trailer by clicking here.
