All of a sudden there’s all this info out there about House, a religious-themed horror film based on the novel by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker. To add to that we just got a quartet of exclusive images from the film, which you can start digesting below.
The official plot for House goes like this: On a deserted back road in Alabama, Jack and Stephanie find themselves driving fast and running late. Their world suddenly changes when a strange accident leaves them stranded with no car, no cell phone coverage, and no help in sight. They have no choice except to continue on foot. As darkness approaches, they round a bend and see a small sign at the top of a long gravel driveway: The Wayside Inn.
The exhausted couple stand in front of an inviting house, complete with gated stone wall, ancient oak trees, and a note welcoming weary travelers. Inside they find another couple with an equally troubling story about a similar accident. It seems that backwoods pranksters have made their day miserable. Still, they are safe …

Dead Set DVD Details!Though we only just heard about the UK zombie series “Dead Set” very recently, it seems it’s been building across the pond for quite a while. Premiering on E4 this month, we just got word that the DVD set is already ready to hit UK shelves on November 3rd!
It's a fucking awful film, but it's also pure Foywonder material. Unintentionally hilarious in parts.
The religious stuff doesn't appear until the end, but it's definately heavy-handed (and out of nowhere).

I'm still puzzled why every mention of this movie has to be tagged with 'religious-themed'.
Exorcism of Emily Rose was more evangelical than this story. Hell, THE EXORCIST was more evangelical than this story.
'House' is way more Rob Zombie than Billy Graham, with only a very subtle, downplayed moral message buried within a supernatural cannibal hillbillies story chock full of stuff you would -not- expect to come from modern Christianity. Dekker and Peretti are Christians, their other works certainly have strong religious themes, but House is a big exception to that.
As long as the film stays true to the book and allows the Devil's Reject alumni to properly go batshit insane, it's going to surprise a LOT of people.

Two reasons; One, if I, as a fan, didn't know it was a religious-themed horror film and I went to see it, I'd be a bit put off.
Two, look at Sirand's comment the last time we did a story on House. And I quote: "...while the first two thirds play out like a bad spookhouse movie, it does turn into sappy religious horror at the end."
