Doccumentary H.P. Lovecraft Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown Tweet By Johnny Butane July 23rd, 2007 This weekend we got the word about a very cool new documentary in the works about Rhode Island’s favorite son, Mr. Howard Phillips Lovecraft. The documentary will be called Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown and is coming to us from an upstart company called Wyrd. Along with a history of the man and his influences on all forms of popular culture to date, the doccumentary's filmmakers have lined up interviews with such fans as Stuart Gordon, Neil Gaiman, Guillermo del Toro, Peter Straub, Ramsey Campbell and many more! Also featured will be artistic interpretations of the creatures Lovecraft used to describe, though obviously a watered-down versions of them since seeing them doesn’t inspire instant madness. Frank Woodward, one of the gents who worked on the features for the first season of Masters of Horror DVDs, is at the helm of the doc and, knowing the man personally, I can assure you we’re in very good hands, indeed.
