Exclusive: Michael Bailey Smith in Blood Shot!
No, it's not Max Schreck on steroids. Dread Central has scored the first pics of genre fav Michael Bailey Smith (The Hills Have Eyes) decked out as the gun-toting, ass-kicking nosferatu in Blood Shot - a horror/action/comedy currently filming in Los Angeles.
Based on the award-winning short film of the same name (check out the trailer for it in Video Dread), Blood Shot follows the exploits of a vampire employed by the C.I.A. to kill terrorist cells. Teaming up with a rogue cop (Brennan Elliott), the two set out to take down an evil Saudi Arabian terrorist (Brad Dourif) who plans to take over the world. Original writer/director Dietrich Johnston returns behind the cameras, and Lance Henriksen co-stars.
The producers have described it as "Big Trouble in Little China crossed with Lethal Weapon and Evil Dead" and the first of a planned trilogy. What we saw on set looked extremely badass, chock full of crazed action, warped humor, and a high body count. Be sure to check back soon for our full report.
In the interim click on the pics below for a closer look at M.B.S. in all his toothy glory!

This evening we learned that filmmaker David C. King's project Picklock has been released via the web. Fival Scorn Shank Productions is hosting the entire thirteen minute short film that can be streamed by all visitors or you can just check it out below. But, what is Picklock?

Awesome!
I saw the original short 5 or so years ago when they were screening it in LA (i think i still have a promotional shot glass!). I'm really glad they're taking something original like this and making a full movie out of it then remaking some more foriegn crap. This flick was balls to the walls funny!

Brad Dourif absolutely rules as the lead terrorist. I actually didn't recognize him.

I loved, loved, loved the Blood Shot short and am so happy it's being made into a feature -- a trilogy even! MBS was born to play this role. I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

That is sopme good work. My biggest concern is if I'll buy Brad Dourif of all people as a Saudi terrorist.
