Exclusive: Burrowers Prequel Named

On the set of David Gregory’s Plague Town last night (more on that later), I got to chatting with one of the makeup effects guys on the project, and he made mention of having worked with J.T. Petty on a project recently, something called “Red Earth”.

Turns out that "Red Earth" is the name of the webisode featurette series Fearnet will be hosting as a prequel to The Burrowers, which we last told you about back here. The effects man went on to say that the prequel deals with Indians and a dead deer on the plains that the ill-fated group in The Burrowers eventually end up on, and will be an origin story of the titular monsters.

The episodic prequel was produced by Larry Fessenden's Glass Eye Pix and will air on Fearnet and Fearnet.com in the weeks leading up to the release of The Burrowers, similar to their showing of 30 Days of Night: Blood Trails. Expect to hear more about The Burrowers: Red Earth very soon!
