Croc (2008)

What is it with Michael Madsen and showing up in bad indie films left and right? Not that I think this one’s bad, necessarily, it just sure don’t look very good. Set in Thailand, Croc tells of what happens when a crocodile attraction looses it’s biggest draw and it starts eating all the locals it can sink its teeth into. Madsen stars as a croc hunter sent to track it down. Dangerous Worry Dolls (2008)

Has anyone ever really looked into Mr. Band’s past to try and see where this obsession with making his horrors miniature comes from? Or is it just a pigeon hole he happens to be quite happy in? The story of this one follows a girl in prison who finds an excellent way at getting revenge on her fellow inmates; she acquires some South American worry dolls and makes them supa evil, then puts them to work. Sounds like another classic in the making. Buy it here!
Deadhouse (2008)

I can’t believe these movies are still being distributed with a straight face. All right, this one compares itself to The Texas Chainsaaw Massacr and Last House on the Left, borrowing the same basic idea about some kids who seek refuge in a farm house. The house is populated by two psychotic killers, of course, and now the kids gotta fight for their lives. Yawn. Buy it here!
Demon Seduction (2008)

Though it’s called Demon Seduction, the plot I found sounds more like it should be called Alien Seduction. But I guess that just doesn’t have the same wring to it, bringing forth thoughts of anal probs and all that. The story is about a dying alien race hoping to be reborn on our planet, so they take on the form of human females and have lots of sex with scientists to try and get the formula they discovered that would save them. Grindhouse Psychos Triple Feature

Oh, c’mon, when are DVD companies going to stop with the “Grindhouse” thing? Yeah, it may have been cool this time last year, but now it’s just fucking old and gimmicky. Or maybe I’m bitter because the film didn’t do well, who knows. Anyway this triple feature from Shriek Show includes Cop Killers, Tenement and Don’t Go in the House. I guess you’re going to have to get the whole thing to figure out if any of ‘em are any good. Buy it here!
Home Made (2008)

The story of a man and his snuff film. A touching tale, really, about hope and survival and overcoming the odds. Certainly this isn’t some cheap cash-in torture porn wanna be, is it? How could it be? Once said snuff filmmaker is caught and tells his entire story, the police realize he’s still got a woman and man locked away and slowly dying somewhere; will they be able to get to them in time before the Jigsaw killer does? Something like that. Buy it here!
Killer Pad (2007)

The first film Mr. Englund’s directed since the infamous 976-EVIL, Killer Pad is the story of a group of slack-jawed Midwestern kids who move out to LA for a life of glamour and fame. They find a house incredibly cheap in the Hollywood Hills, too cheap to be good, and of course buy it immediately. Naked Beneath the Water (2007)

What a bizarre title for a movie the sounds like it has nothing to do with nudity or water… The story follows Pelle, who’s brother is missing and he soon finds out had a part in a reality show called “Public Enemy Number One”, in which murderers film their killings in order to compete for Killer of the Year awards. Fucked up. When he finds out his brother was involved, he inadvertently becomes involved as well and death is all around him. Buy it here!
Orb (2007)

A group of friends travel to a remote part of Hawaii for some fun and frolicking. They’re fun is halted when a meteorite crashes to earth, and one by one a mysterious orb turns them into mindless killers. Friendships are tested to their limit, mistrust runs rampant, sex is probably still squeezed in somewhere. They are kids, after all. The orb has to be stopped, but how can you stop and orb? Sabbath (2007)

I have to admit, I really like this cover. A lot. It’s so good to see Brain Damage Films actually trying with their art instead of churning out the same old crap they used to. Now as for their quality of films, well… Sabbath is about a small town overrun by the dead, who are stuck on earth now that Heaven and Hell have closed down. A girl trying to survive gets some help along the way, but soon realizes it’s more than just the hungry dead she has to outrun. Buy it here!
Storm Warning (2007)

This one also sounds like another bit of post-Saw crap, but from all the accounts I’ve heard it’s actually pretty damn good. A couple is forced to land their sailboat on a remote island inhabited by a demented and psychotic father and son.
