Directed by David Nerlich & Andrew Traucki

An idiotic couple, out for a boat tour in the mangroves of Northern Australia, are surprised when their boat is capsized and they become the target of a man-eating crocodile with revenge on its tiny brain. They take refuge in a tree while the patient croc stalks the world below, just waiting for them to fall out. Doesn’t sound like the most entertaining nature gone amok movie, but make sure you read our Black Water DVD review to learn more! Buy it here!

Directed by David Elliot & Tomm Coker

Wow, this one’s been a very long time coming, eh? I remember they started work on this back when Saw II was just becoming a reality. Now we’re almost at Saw V, and it’s finally coming out. Apparently the wait was not worth it though. The story is about girls stalked by a monster in the catacombs under Paris, where thousands were buried back in the city’s younger days. Good luck trying to follow the action though! Read our Catacombs DVD review for reasons why. Buy it here!

Directed by Darren Doane

Well, this in one does sound somewhat interesting, despite the presence of Michael Madsen. The story is about two distraught killers as they explore the line between good and evil. In one tale, a remorseless murderer wanders the streets looking for his next victim. In another, a quiet family man (Madsen) goes through a living hell dealing with the fact that he accidentally killed his wife. Director Doane has made music videos for punk bands such as MXPX, Blink 182, Pennywise and more, so if nothing else the soundtrack will be good! Buy it here!

Directed by The Polonia Brothers

When you name a mountain Skull Mountain, you really can’t expect anything good to come of it, can you? I mean, when there’s an earthquake and all manner of evil is unleashed from it to flood the surrounding forest, can you really act terribly surprise? C’mon, it’s not called Skull Mountain because of its great skiing! All that’s left alive when the aforementioned evil is unleashed are a couple of treasure hunters and woman with a psychic link to the evil; can they stop it before it’s too late? I hope not! Directed by Shane Abbess

We’re humans, and the angels, both Arc and Fallen, have been exploiting that fact for centuries. Now it’s up to Archangel Gabriel, the last of the angels to return light to the darkness, to finally reclaim the city of Purgatory and its population of reborn souls. Sound confusing? Yeah, it does to me, too, but according to Creepy it’s still a pretty damn cool flick. Check out our Gabriel DVD review to find out why! Buy it here!

Click to see the DVD bigger! The German Expressionism Collection
Directed by Various

Now usually I don’t care much for including re-packed releases of films that’ve been out in one form or another for a while, but this one just gets me in the right place. German Expressionism was one of the most intriguing early forms of horror, and this collection really has the cream of the crop to help you see why: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, The Hands of Orlac, Secrets of a Soul and Warning Shadows are all included in this new box set. Both Secrets of a Soul and The Hands of Dr. Orlac will see solo releases this week as well. A must-have for anyone with a love of film! Buy it here!

Directed by David Carreras

A young doctor has stared her new career up at a remote mental hospital. At first she’s unsure of herself, questioning whether she really belongs there or not, but soon she realizes everyone’s taken a shine to her and starts to enjoy herself. When the patients start telling her increasingly strange things about the place, however, she starts to figure out that there is something very wrong going on there… Buy it here!

Click to see the DVD bigger!Nightmare Detective (2006)
Directed by Shinya Tsukamoto

A truly cool movie from a truly cool director, Nightmare Detective is the story of a series of hideous suicides that are eventually linked to a cell phone call from a person who can manipulate the sleeping state of his victims. A man with unusual ability to enter people’s nightmares is brought in to help, and pretty soon a cat and mouse game of the most nightmarish kind is in play. Click to see the DVD bigger!Revamped (2007)
Directed by Jeff Rector

Wow, there sure is a lot more going on in the vampire underworld than even I first thought. When a businessman is bitten by a beautiful female vampire and turned, he’s soon pursued by both S.T.A.K.E., a militant vampire-hunting group, and The Bleeders, an underground society of vampires who want survival at all costs. Sounds like fun, and you can’t deny that the cover features the best use of the letter “V” in history. Buy it here!

Click to see the DVD bigger!Spiral (2007)
Directed by Joel David Moore & Adam Green

Joel David Moore tries on a new role for size, that of a creepy, introverted painter with horrible fashion sense, in this Hitchockian thriller that’s about a million miles from Green’s debut feature as you can get. Subtle and filled with a remarkable jazz soundtrack that only helps to disorient the viewer more than the visuals alone, Spiral is very disturbing slow burn with an ending you won’t see coming. Be sure to read our Spiral DVD review for more! Buy it here!

Click to see the DVD bigger!Zebraman (2004)
Directed by Takashi Miike

Is it really horror? Does it matter since it’s Miike and most of his films have a difficult time being categorized anyway? Back in 1978, a man fell in love with a show called "Zebraman," set in 2010, about a superhero who fought evil. The show was canceled early but the man, now a disrespected third-grade teacher, feels the world needs a Zerbraman anyway and makes himself a costume to fight crime as he finds it. Or maybe just get a little respect. Buy it here!

The Hands of Dr. Orlac!! YES! Hope Best Buy has it in. My copy of Cabinet is crap, need a cleaner version anyway. Never heard of the other two, but I'm sure they will be as the very least interesting.
