I have to say it’s about damn time someone got around to putting out a special edition of this classic horror/comedy about a man who believes so much in Christmas, and that people should get what they deserve for the holiday, he turns to murder and mayhem. Directed by Slater Kane

This one could really be hit or miss, though I admit I’ve not heard of it before, which is usually not a great sign. Five years ago a group of friends in a work study program at a mental institution played a prank on a young mental patient that left her horribly disfigured. Now the group is returning to the scene of the crime to party and have sex, of course. The film is supposed to be the “actual footage” of what happened to the group upon their return. Um … sure. Directed by Peter Jackson

While leaving the theater after seeing Peter Jackson’s reimagining of King Kong, the first thing my wife and I said was that it just wasn’t long enough. Thankfully Jackson heard similar cries from fans across the world and orchestrated a new, longer cut of the film! All right, that was sarcastic. Do we really need another 38 minutes of footage tacked onto a three-hour movie? No, and especially not one that’s as hit-and-miss as Kong. But, we’re getting one anyway, so I hope someone out there appreciates it. Buy it here!

Directed by William Lustig

On the streets of New York City a psychotic police officer is killing citizens for no apparent reason. City Hall wants to cover it up and a young cop is setup as the chief suspect, thanks to the real killer and a mysterious woman caller. Synapse has slapped on a commentary by star Bruce Campbell and writer/producer Larry Cohen, new featurettes, deleted scenes that were used for the Japanese TV broadcast and a lot more. Buy it here!

Click to see it full size!Masters of Horror: Haeckel’s Tale (2005)
Directed by John McNaughton

This being the only Masters episode from Season One that I still haven’t seen, I’m going to have to track this one down. Henry director John McNaughton brought this Clive Barker tale to the small screen, the story of a traveler who comes across a strange old man and his beautiful wife who has some very messed up nighttime dealings in the local graveyard. The usual massive amount of extras populate the disc, including interviews, behind the scenes featurettes and a commentary by McNaughton. Be sure to check out our DVD review of the disc for more! Directed by Stanley Isaacs

Can you believe people are still putting Lorenzo Lamas’ name on their DVD covers like it’s some sort of selling point? “Look honey, a new Lamas movie! We have to get it!” A group of Naval commandoes launch an attack against a known terrorist on a relatively deserted island, but they’ve got bigger things to worry about; namely a horde of prehistoric raptors that should’ve been dead millions of years ago. Will Lamas survive?!?! Click here for Foy’s review to find out! Buy it here!
