Diary of the Dead Sequel Confirmed

Now this is what I call a Halloween treat!
Details have emerged about George Romero’s planned sequel to Diary of the Dead (review) which we first mentioned a few days back ("Romero’s Multiple Diaries" – October 2007).
The Hollywood Reporter got the news that Artfire and Romero-Grunwald Productions have greenlit the Diary sequel, which will pick up right where the first film leaves off. The survivors of Diary have to fight their way out of a mansion full of zombies, making their way to a remote island, only to be plagued by the undead some more.
Nice! Kudos to George for seriously being back in the game!
The Weinstein Company will release Diary of the Dead sometime next year; you know we’ll let you know more the instant we do!
