Last night we got an email from Edward Douglas, one of the creative forces behind Midnight Syndicate and director of the upcoming film The Dead Matter, with an update on his directorial debut.
The plan is to premiere the Dead Matter trailer at this year's San Diego Comic Con at Midnight Syndicate's booth, where Douglas, along with various cast members, will be hunkering down all weekend amidst the madness. Spend all of Comic Con in one place? Where's the fun in that?
Picture is officially locked on Dead Matter, and the initial screenings of the film went better than expected according to Douglas. Robert Kurtzman and his Precinct 13 continue to work on the visual effects while Midnight Syndicate finalizes the soundtrack, which is expected to be out this August.
For those who may have forgotten, The Dead Matter is the story of a grief-stricken young woman who will do anything to contact her dead brother. So when a strange vampire relic falls into her hands, she doesn't hesitate to use it, and all manner of issues ensue. On the right is a new pic from the film, showing the aftermath of a zombie attack; get more by hitting the official Dead Matter site and the film's MySpace page!
