Dante Finds Himself in The Hole, Too!

How cool is it to see Joe Dante’s name in the trades for two days in a row? Very cool, that’s how! Yesterday we told you he’d be directing the new film from Masters of Horror writers Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan, Bat out of Hell; today he was officially attached to another outstanding horror project, The Hole.
Written by Vacancy penner Mark L. Smith, this is not the first we’ve heard of The Hole; indeed it was first mentioned a few months back with a very vague logline about two brothers who find a hole in their basement that reveals their deepest fears. And guess what? That’s still all we know about it!
From the sounds of the article in Variety, The Hole will actually shoot first, sometime this summer, followed by Bat Out of Hell; no matter, the simple fact that we have two new Joe Dante horror movies to look forward to is enough to keep me going for years!
