Dafoe Joins Daybreakers

Though we’ve known for a while that Ethan Hawke would be taking a lead role in the Sprierig Brother’s latest film, Daybreakers, today some even cooler casting was revealed.

Hawke spoke with Star Pulse News about his role, and in doing so revealed that none other than Willem Dafoe is on board the film as well: I'm going to make a vampire picture and I'm going to chew on some necks,” Hawke told the site. ”Willem Dafoe and I are dueling vampires. It's a vampire movie set way in the future where everyone is a vampire and we're all eating our own resources, so we're trying to get off on foreign humans. We're trying to get off of trying to create blood substitutes. It's a big analogy about what's going on now. It's really dark and weird and everybody's sucking each other's blood."

Dafoe joins Hawke and another kickass thespian, Sam Neill, in the vampire film. Shooting is expected to start sometime next month so look for more very soon!
