Last seen getting blinded on the Fox Network's "24", journeying to the center of the earth on the Hallmark Channel, and battling the Andromeda Strain on A&E, Rick Schroder is now taking his silver spoons over to the Sci-Fi Channel to direct Hellhounds.
Set in 500 B.C., Hellhounds tells the tale of Kleitos, a Greek warrior who leads his companions on a mission to rescue his bride Hades and bring her back to life. Standing in their way are the guardians of the underworld, the hellhounds.
Shooting begins on Sunday in Romania on the film written by Paul A. Birkett (Escape Velocity, Crash Landing) with Schroder in the director's chair and Scott Elrod of the recently cancelled "Men in Trees" in the lead role.
Schroder is no novice behind the camera having made his directorial debut with the Native America boxing drama Black Cloud and is currently slated as one of the seven directors to produce vignettes for an anthology film in pre-production entitled Locker 13.
The Hollywood Reporter states the Hellhounds will be "full of CGI and special effects". When talking about a Sci-Fi Channel original movie, heavy CGI is often not a good thing.

Hope for a cameo on a train in the Dread Central forums!
