Costner Fathers New Daughter
Finally some more casting has been announced for The New Daughter, a horror movie we’ve not heard jack nor shit about since it was initially announced ("Pan’s Star is New Daughter" – April 2007). That’s just how production company Gold Circle works sometimes, taking forever to finally get their films rolling.
Keven Costner, of all people, has signed on to play the father of the titular daughter, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story follows a single father who moves with his two kids after a particularly nasty divorce to an isolated farm. His eldest daughter, to be played by Pan’s Labyrinth star Ivana Baquero, soon begins acting very strangely and the nearby burial mound is eventually seen as a possible catalyst for her disturbing behavior.
Lusio Berdejo, who wrote the Spanis REC among others, is on board to direct, and cameras are set to roll in the first quarter of 2008 on The New Daughter. The cast is solid, though I have to say Costner in another horror movie is just strange to me, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one!
