Goosebumps acquired by Columbia! Finally, the popular kids horror series Goosebumps is making its way to the big screen. The hopes and prayers of thousands of kids (who are probably far too old to care now) have been answered. I wonder if it’s too late?

Variety announced this morning that R.L. Stine and Scholastic have sold the rights to the Goosebumps series to Columbia, with Neal Moritz set to produce under his Original Films banner. It wasn’t specifically mentioned which Goosebumps story we’d be seeing on the big screen first, but they are looking for a writer for it now, regardless.

It was also mentioned that Scholastic are working on a Goosebumps video game, original episodes of the Nickelodeon live-action show will be showing up on Cartoon Network soon, and a new series of books called Goosebumps HorrorLand, which feature characters from the original series, started showing up on shelves last month.

I guess the Goosebumps revolution we all knew would come eventually is finally here!
