Say what you will about Uwe Boll, there are worse filmmakers working today with much worse attitudes towards filmgoers, and the man can still make a deal. Plus he’s just fucking funny!
On the deal front, The Hollywood Reporter got word today that Freestyle Releasing have signed on to handle the distro of Boll’s most recent trilogy of films; In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, Postal and Seed, the latter of which being the only non-video game based movie Boll’s done since hitting our shores.
It’s definitely a good deal for Boll and for fans (ahem) who have been wondering (fearing?) when the films would be released and how. Now we know; Postal will be out on September 28th in North America, Seed will be out sometime next year, and In the Name of the King will hit on January 18th on 2500 screens! Let’s just hope Freestyle does a better job of selling it than Boll’s previous in-house company did with Bloodrayne!
And, since we’re pretty sure the good doctor reads everything written about him; congrats from all of us (even/especially Foy) at Dread Central, Uwe!
