The official site for the Korean Film Council is reporting that filming on Blood: The Last Vampire started back on March 15th with Ronnie (Freddy Vs. Jason) Yu still at the helm.
Though it was reported by the trades not too long ago that Yu was no longer directing the film that doesn’t seem to be the case. Cameras are rolling in Buenos Aires for the first month before production moves into China, where another three months of shooting is scheduled.
Four months to adapt an anime that was less than an hour long? One can’t help but wonder what they’ve added to the script to expand the idea. Jun Ji-hyun (who will be billed as Gianna Jun outside of Asia) is in the lead role, a girl named Saya who is sent to an Air Force base under cover to suss out some vampires and discovers two of friends to be bloodsuckers in disguise.
Look for Blood: The Last Vampire sometime next year!
