The writer/director of The Strangers (review) has just signed a deal with Rogue Pictures, Focus Features' genre arm, to bring them two more thrillers in the coming years according to Variety. A Strangers sequel is not part of the deal. The first will be a film simply called Black, which the trade describes as a character-driven thriller with supernatural elements. Michael Connolly’s Mad Hatter Entertainment will produce. The other film is Alone, a project Rogue’s been working on for a while now. Bertino will take a pass at the script and may direct if he likes it enough.
