If you’ve not heard much about the title, I’m not surprised; I’ve been trying to figure out if it belongs on Dread since it started its festival run. The story follows four struggling writers who take up space in a cabin in the middle of nowhere to work on their idea of a group of friends who are tormented by a killer with a bag over his head. Problems arise when what they’re writing as fiction starts to become truth. The press release for the DVD calls it a “gentle satiriziation” of our genre, a phrase that I honestly don’t know how to feel about. The DVD will come with commentary by the Brothers Duplass, a featurette called “Mark and Jay Duplass Answer Questions They’ve Already Answered” and something called “Baghead Scares”.
