Army of the Dead Updated!

There’s been so little said about Zack (Dawn of the Dead, 300) Snyder’s epic-scale zombie movie Army of the Dead (not to be confused with this Army of the Dead) that I was beginning to wonder if we’d ever seen the light of its cloudy eyes.

STYD got to chat with Snyder’s co-producer and wife while on the set of Watchmen and learned that things are moving ahead quite nicely on the project; they’re currently looking for a director with experience and a fresh eye. Hell, maybe even two!

Army of the Dead goes down in Vegas, where there was some sort of accident years ago that caused the living dead to take over and is now completely walled in. A character goes in to investigate and doesn’t come back out, so her father hires a team of mercenaries (who are told there is still money in the casinos) to help him find her.

Sounds like it could be a lot of fun, though I admit not on the scale I had originally thought. That, and since I just read World War Z for the first time, it’s hard for any potential zombie story to come anywhere near what that one will be...
