Anderson still involved with CastlevaniaEarlier this week we reported that Paul W.S. Anderson, famed director of such beloved genre classics as Alien Vs. Predator and Resident Evil, was off his directing gig on Castlevania, the video game adaptation set up at Universal.

IGN decided to get more details on his departure. Turns out he is off as director, but is still actively involved with the film as a whole. “Both Death Race and Castlevania are set up at Universal,” the filmmaker told IGN. “The studio wants to make both films, but obviously there is a scheduling conflict which we are trying to resolve. I am very passionate about Castlevania and whatever happens I will remain actively involved in my role as writer and producer.”

So there we go. Seems he’s not directing, as we originally reported, but will still have his name on the eventual film in some capacity. Whether or not that’s a good thing remains to be seen…
