Though I still can’t say it’s exactly what we wanted nor asked for, I’m holding out hope that the Michael Roesch/Peter Scheerer-helmed Alone in the Dark 2 can at the very least help us forget there was an Alone in the Dark 1.
Word has arrived that principal photography has wrapped on the sequel, which will find the hero of the game series, Edward Carnby, going head-to-head with a witch most vile. He joins up with a team of witch hunters to track the bitch down.
Rick Yune, Lance Henriksen, Bill Moseley, Danny Trejo, P.J. Soles, Zack Ward and a helluva lot more make up the cast, with nary a Tara Reid in sight, thank the Old Ones. “We were really lucky with our cast,” co-director Scheerer said in a press release. ”Fortunately many actors and agents liked the script, and we were able to get so many great actors. We are great horror fans, and it’s really awesome to work with our favorite actors on the movie.”
Look for some exclusive Alone in the Dark 2 goodies in the coming weeks; the film will be out sometime next year!
