Casting and Distribution Update on Tales of an Ancient Empire

Things have been quiet for the last couple of months regarding Tales of an Ancient Empire, but this weekend we got word from director Albert Pyun that not only is his cast expanding, but he's also close to sealing a deal on the film's North American distribution.

Machete Slices & Hacks Itself Some International Distro

Good news for fans abroad looking forward to the feature length version of one of the best mock trailers to appear in Grindhouse, Robert Rodriguez's Machete -- the flick has scored itself some overseas distribution!

Official Machete Press Release

And the picture is finally getting clearer. The official press release concerning Robert Rodriguez's latest film Machete just hit the wire, and rather than extrapolate a few facts, we're giving you the whole enchilada!

It's Seagal vs. Vamps in Against the Dark

You see now THIS ... this is what I'm talking about! Never mind the comeback movies of Stallone or even JCVD ... When Steven Seagal makes his comeback he's gonna be kicking the shit out of vampires! Can I get an AMEN?!? Sony Pictures' upcoming release of Against the Dark (formerly called Last Night) will find Seagal amidst all manner of toothy mayhem. From the official synopsis:

Seagal the Vampire Slayer

Steven Seagal has been kind of notorious for wanting to avoid appearing in any kind of sci-fi or horror-themed movies. It almost happened a few years back with the Anthony Hickox flick Submerged, but the whole "mutant" aspect got nixed in favor of generic terrorists shortly before shooting began. Not sure why he's so opposed to such a thing. His own daughter starred in three Gamera movies; what makes him think he's so above the fray?
