The sickos behind the Saw franchise, Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, are at it again in print form along with one of our favorite lunatics, Stephen Romano (Shock Festival), as this trio of terror have shined a Black Light on the horror scene.
It's been a few months since last we checked out the guaranteed to be bat-shit insane new book from Patrick Melton, Marcus Dunstan, and Stephen Romano, but lo and behold we've got some artwork and even a release date!
According to Mulholland Books Black Light will be available in hardcover on October 5th, 2011.
Synopsis
It's always nice to see good people work together to create something great. As far as the horror genre goes, it's also cool to see people who are absolutely bat-shit psychotic work together to bring us something deliciously dark. Case in point ... an update on Black Light, an upcoming novel from Patrick Melton, Marcus Dunstan, and Stephen Romano we first told you about last month.
It's been a while since we've heard anything from the folks behind The Disco Exorcist, but as proof that good things come to those who wait, today we have the film's poster debut along with details on its February 12th premiere in Providence, Rhode Island.
From the Press Release:
Just last week we brought you the news that the creative team behind Black Devil Doll, the Lewis Brothers, have a new monster flick on the horizon called Bottomfeeder. Now just days later we have the skinny on when you can see the very first clip and the official one-sheet debut featuring artwork by long-time Lewis Brothers collaborator Stephen Romano, who also wrote the film's screenplay.
The people who brought you one of the most insane films of last year, Black Devil Doll, are back with what promises to be a very different kind of monster movie.
The more we see of director Gregory Lamberson's Slime City Massacre, the more we dig its sleazy, retro vibe. And along those lines, the filmmakers have released the new official poster for the film, which was created by the sleaziest, most retro guy we know: Stephen Romano!
We told you a few weeks back that as a companion piece to his massive original book Shock Festival, Stephen Romano would be releasing a multi-volume DVD collection (also titled Shock Festival) of rarities he dug up with some friends that not only takes scenes from actual films but also incorporates the fictional previews for the movies from his book.
Who knew? You know the old saying "Stranger things have happened?" Well, it doesn't get much stranger than this. The most offensive movie of the year, Black Devil Doll (review here), has gotten itself an honest to goodness real-deal novelization and you can get your hands on that bad boy right now.
Author Stephen Romano gave horror fans a rare vintage treat last year with his Shock Festival novel that paid homage to the schlock and B-movies genre by creating a history of visuals and stories about films that only existed in the depths of his massive imagination.
This morning the guys at AICN had an interview with Paul Giamatti up in which he announced that Ron Perlman was looking to fill the blue suede shoes of Elvis Presley in Don Coscarelli’s Bubba Nosferatu. We told you about it cause we love you, and now we have official word from Bubba Nosferatu writer Stephen Romano on the casting!
