And here it is, the second tragic loss of the day. Sage Stallone, owner of Grindhouse Releasing and son to Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone, has passed away at the far too young age of 36.
People is reporting that Sage Moonblood Stallone was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Friday afternoon.
There have been some reports online that Sage’s passing was attributed to an overdose of prescription medicine, although LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told People that it’s far too early to make that kind of a call. There were no signs of foul play or forced entry, and that’s all that’s really known at this time.
In addition to starring alongside his father in Rocky V, Sage was a valued asset to the horror community. His company, Grindhouse Releasing, is responsible for bringing some of the world’s most outrageous cinema into the comfort of our living rooms with the most stellar presentations imaginable. There isn’t a serious horror fan out there who won’t attest to the quality of work Mr. Stallone was associated with when it came to the genre he loved so much.
This is a terrible tragedy, and our condolences go out to Sage’s family. Rest easy, brother, we’re eternally grateful.
