Robert Kirkman’s Outcast AKA The Series I Was Unaware Featured Brent Spiner Season 2 Hits the U.S. This July

Evidently, the second season of Robert Kirkman’s Outcast has been available in other countries for months now. Huh. Not only was I unaware of this, but I had no idea the series featured Brent Spiner (Data from “Star Trek: The Next Generation”). Now I’m all in.

All fanboying aside, today we finally have word that all of us here in the U.S. can catch the new ten-episode second season starting Friday, July 20th (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT).

The series is created and executive produced by Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”) and based on the Skybound/Image comic by Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta and executive produced by Chris Black, David Alpert, Sharon Tal Yguado and Sue Naegle.

The show’s cast includes Patrick Fugit (Gone Girl), Philip Glenister (Kingdom of Heaven), Wrenn Schmidt (Preservation), Megan Holter, Reg E. Cathey, Kate Lyn Sheil, Julia Crockett, David Denman, Mark Holter, and Brent Spiner.

“Outcast” Season 2 hits Cinemax Friday, July 20.

Synopsis:

Kyle Barnes has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. With the help of Reverend Anderson a preacher who believes he is a soldier in God’s holy war against the forces of evil, Kyle tries to protect those he holds most dear, now that the otherworldly threats prove greater in scope and number than anticipated. His struggle will grow into a fight for all of his hometown, as he discovers the haunting secrets of his own past. Continuing to probe the mystery of what lies behind the town of Rome’s supernatural manifestations, and why they are drawn to Kyle, the show explores how people cope with extreme circumstances while protecting the ones they love.
