Silence of the Lambs

As we get down to the number four entry on the list, we find one of the few horror films that the critics enjoyed as much as the fans. It's not often that true horrorphiles and starchy movie critics look at a film and both nod their heads and say, "Yeah, that's the stuff."

Peaches Christ Productions is celebrating the world premiere of "The Silence of the Trans", a blood-soaked summer spectacular exploding at San Francisco’s historic Castro Theatre on July 28, 2012. If you live in the area, we suspect this is an event you won't want to miss!

Not to be outdone by NBC's "Hannibal", which is heading our way at mid-season, Lifetime is putting a feminine spin on things by developing "Clarice", based on the Clarice Starling character that earned The Silence of the Lambs star Jodie Foster an Academy Award for best actress.

It's been several months since we first heard about Silence! The Musical, an Off Broadway parody of Silence of the Lambs, but after four sold-out extensions already, it's looking like a hit. And we've got two pairs of tickets to give away to two lucky readers!

It's always a blessed event when our genre is recognized, and when it comes to film, there's no greater honor than to be added to the National Film Registry for preservation. Two more of our best have recently been added. Read on for all of the details.

The new trend (as odd as it is) lately seems to be to take some of the horror genre's most notable films and turn them into bizarro musicals made specifically for the stage. Well, I guess it's better than a remake.

What's this we hear? Ridley Scott and Anthony Hopkins are re-teaming to bring Hannibal Lecter back to the big screen for the fourth time? And what's this? Cate Blanchett will be playing the new Clarice Starling?
