As part of its 2009 Scream Awards broadcast, Spike TV showed off a new exclusive trailer for Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island with some never-before-seen footage.

Delays, delays, delays. We all hate them, but sometimes they're very necessary. Yet, other times they're just plain weird. Paramount has bumped Martin Scorsese's new film Shutter Island until 2010, leaving their fall slate empty with the exception of Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones.

When the trailer for Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island hit the Web weeks ago, just about everyone was surprised at how genuinely spooky looking the film seemed to be. It's rare that a genre site like ours ever gets to cover a Scorsese film, so to say we were pleased is an understatement. That being said ... we now bring you the film's first official one-sheet.

It's hard to decide what to cover here on Dread Central, so we try and do it all even if at times it's a little bit fringy. Just trying to make sure all horror fans are covered. When news of Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island broke, we were a bit on the fence, but after this trailer? We are SO on board!
