Just as we support indie filmmakers, we do our best to help get the word out when indie authors have new projects. Dread Central regular Alan Draven's Spooky Showcase, his second collection of short stories and novellas, will be published on or around November 9th.

The Bloody Parchment short story competition was established as part of the South African HorrorFest in 2010, and now eKhaya has compiled a collection of stories from the 2011 submissions into Bloody Parchment: Hidden Things, Lost Things, and Other Stories.

We're not entirely sure what Esquire has in mind for its new ebook series "Fiction for Men", but as part of the launch they will be publishing a new story collaboration by father and son team Stephen King and Joe Hill entitled "In the Tall Grass". Hopefully women will be allowed to read it, too!

A few months ago we brought to your attention the short story collection Shadows: Supernatural Tales by Masters of Modern Literature, and to help refresh your memory, Uninvited Books has released a new trailer featuring editor Robert Dunbar reading from his introduction.

You have to wonder if the creators behind Twitter had any idea of how influential and informative the site would become. For instance, author R.L. Stine has used it not only to announce the renewal of his TV show, "The Haunting Hour", but also to unveil a new very short story.

We know a lot of our readers are always on the lookout for new and different stories to add to their bookshelves and Kindles so when news of J.S. (Jake) Bannerman's debut compilation of short stories and prose entitled The Pitchfork Diaries: Volume One crossed our desks, we just had to share.
