‘Shock-A-Go-Go’ Film Festival Takes New York!

Shock-A-Go-Go Festival

Howdy, Harrowed Haunts! For the ravenous (and lucky) lot of you in the New York City area (specifically Greenpoint Brooklyn), there’s an event happening that may quench your bloodthirst a bit: Shock-A-Go-Go 2023!

Promised to be “five nights of sinematic weirdness,” Shock-A-Go-Go 2023 will be showcasing a marathon of films, both indie and cult classics alike. From Tromaville mainstays like James Gunn’s Tromeo and Juliet and Lloyd Kaufman’s Terror Firmer, to indie ventures like Final Girls Bloodbath, Bishop’s Cove, Plantasma, and The Time Traveling Toilet Punk… Man, our taste in cinema is weird. But why don’t I tell us something we don’t already know, am I right, Blood Babes?

Joining in on the festivities will be several of the films’ directors, along with indie horror maestro Larry Fessenden. Color me envious, because if I had the chance to meet Fessenden, I would. He and I share a similar fondness for a certain monster, so I’d love to hear his thoughts. This means all you horror fans close by have to hear them for me. Don’t let me down!

The festival goes from October 18th – 22nd. The exact prices and other info are on the event page here but expect to run roughly $150 to experience every ghoulish moment. However, you can also pay $15 per movie or $40 per night if you so choose, so there are options for every palate!

Have fun, take pictures, and tell me how it was when you get back. I want to hear all about it!

Until next time…

Ciao, friends!
