Sitges 2011: "Noves Visions" Section Films Announced

The 2011 Sitges Film Festival, held 6-16 October on the Catalan coast of Spain, has released information on the films that will comprise the fest's "Noves Visions" section, which promises to be a category dedicated to the most innovative and transgressive approaches. Several genre films are represented, and we have the full rundown here.

The third chapter of the Tetsuo series is on its way courtesy of IFC Midnight and we've got everything you need to know to get yourself properly prepped! Shinya Tsukamoto's Tetsuo III: The Bullet Man will be available on demand on January 19th and in select theatres on January 21st.

Tribeca Horrors 2010: Tetsuo, The Bullet Man

More than 20 years after he used 16mm to prove himself worthy of a cult following with Tetsuo, The Iron Man, Shinya Tsukamoto is back with another frenetic, hyperbolic experience. And if you'll be at this year's Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, you can see the final director's cut for the first time.

Tetsuo: The Iron Man Returns -- In English!

Japanese production company Kaiju Theater, along with its production and distribution partner Asmik Ace Entertainment, today announced the launch of a new film, tentatively called Tetsuo Project, directed by Japan’s sci-fi master Shinya Tsukamoto, to be delivered later this year. Asmik Ace will introduce the project to the industry in Cannes. 2009 marks the 20th anniversary of the launch of the Tetsuo franchise.

AFM: Nightmare Detective 2 Promo Stills

Andrew just dropped a quartet of promo stills from Shinya Tsukamoto’s Nightmare Detective 2 in our laps, and we’re happily ready to share ‘em with you. They’re pretty damn freaky if you ask me, but anyone who’s seen the first Nightmare Detective shouldn’t be surprised. No word on when or how the sequel will be out in the States, but when we know, you’ll know!
