Scout Taylor-Compton Has Now Been Cast in Shawn C. Phillips’ Directorial Debut SCREAM BLOODY MURDER

Shawn C. Phillips became a famous movie blogger after founding his YouTube channel, Coolduder, back in 2006. Vlogging led to making short films, and short films led to a full-time career in acting. Horror fans may recognize him from Ghost Shark, Dead Ant, or literally dozens of others. Last month, we reported that Phillips is gearing up to step behind the camera for his directorial debut, Scream Bloody Murder. The film has been described as a love letter to 1990s-era horror movies!

Today brings word that Scout Taylor-Compton has joined the cast of Scream Bloody Murder and will appear alongside Brinke Stevens, Robert Lasardo, James Duvall, and Vernon Wells. Horror fans know Taylor-Compton best for her turns as Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie’s Halloween (2007) and Halloween II (2009).
Scream Queen Julie Anne Prescott is one of the film’s producers. and will also have a lead role in Scream Bloody Murder.
“Its going to be a love letter to 90s slasher films in the style of Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer,” Phillips tells us. “The movie will also have elements of films like Mean Girls as well as Revenge of the Nerds. So it will have some humor mixed in as well to the film.”
Phillips is gearing up to film Scream Bloody Murder in May. We’ll keep you posted on the film’s progress as details emerge. Stay tuned and check back often!
