Ever since a sequel was announced during the Weekend of Horrors panel this writer had the privilege of hosting alongside the crew from Scott Glosserman's Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon a few months back, we here at Dread Central have been giddy over the promise of more exploits from one of the newest iconic villains of the horror genre and seeing what happens next with those who have the misfortune of being mixed up in Leslie's twisted little world.

It's been a while since last we reported on any movement regarding Scott Glosserman's sequel to the cult hit Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, but things are officially looking a bit sunnier for Leslie's return. Read on for the details.

Quick question for you ... if the sequel to Behind the Mask was coming out, say, next week, you'd buy it, right? I know we would. After the first flick, who doesn't want a sequel? Here's the deal ... not only can you reserve yourself a copy of the sequel on DVD and Blu-ray RIGHT NOW, but by doing so you'll also be helping to get the flick made! How friggin' cool is that?!?

Some cool news is coming out of the Before the Mask: The Return of Leslie Vernon camp. They have passed the $6,000 mark in their campaign to finance the prequel/sequel to the amazing Behind the Mask: The Rise and Fall of Leslie Vernon, and to celebrate, they have released three pages of the script!

While we all wait ever so patiently for director Scott Glosserman to find a way to make the next entry in the Behind the Mask franchise officially get off the ground, Glosserman has a new horror flick lined up for MTV called The Truth Below.

With the Creation LA Weekend of Horrors in its second day, some REALLY interesting news came out of the Behind the Mask reunion panel just minutes ago, and being that we were on the scene, we've got all the latest gory details on Before the Mask: The Return of Leslie Vernon.

Around these parts we are HUGE fans of Scott Glosserman's Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon so we've been waiting impatiently to see what Glosserman would come up with next. Finally there's some news.

There's little doubt that within our genre a serial killer who goes by the name of Leslie Vernon has accrued quite the fanbase. Sure, he may not have the sequel or even body count of horror heavyweights like Jason, Freddy, or Michael, but the kid has spunk and can move quick like a cheetah!

Back in 2006, an aspiring reporter took you Behind the Mask (review here) to introduce you to a psycho slasher named Leslie Vernon whose singular goal was to eclipse the pantheon of the great slashers to come before him.

I wasn't quite as big a fan of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (reviews here) as some of the folks in the Dread Central offices, but I'm still pretty stoked to hear that a sequel is possibly in the works.
