Horror History: Happy Birthday, Silence of the Lambs’ Scott Glenn!

On this day in horror history, Scott Glenn was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Glenn is best known around these parts for his roles in Michael Mann’s The Keep and Jonathan Demme’s adaptation of Thomas Harris’ The Silence of the Lambs.
Glenn first broke into the mainstream with his role in Francis Ford Coppola’s war epic Apocalypse Now. From there he scores roles in classics such as Urban Cowboy, The Right Stuff, Silverado, Man on Fire, and The Hunt for Red October.
Some of his more modern hits include Backdraft, Courage Under Fire, and Absolute Power. Not to mention cult classics such as The Virgin Suicides, and Vertical Limit.

Glenn then broke back into the mainstream with roles in films such as Training Day, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Bourne Legacy, and Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch.
He also had recurring roles in TV shows such as Monk and The Leftovers. Not to mention his role as Stick in Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil and The Defenders.
Most recently, Glenn played Alan Pangborn in the first season of Hulu’s Stephen King series Castle Rock. Truth be told, he was the best thing about the season…
