A few days ago I reviewed an import DVD of Christopher Hatton’s Robotropolis, essentially a zombie outbreak flick with killer robots in lieu of the undead. Hatton’s next flick, Battle of the Damned, has just been announced at AFM, and this time the survivors will have to contend with both berserk robots and zombies.

It's been quite some time since we've gotten an update on Robopocalypse, which Steven Spielberg is directing for DreamWorks, but now it looks like financing is in place, or will be shortly, with Dreamworks and Fox teaming up to co-finance the project.

For as long as there have been movies, there have been tales of robots eventually wiping out the human race. From Metropolis to The Terminator, the fear of sentient machines is a palpable one, and in Robotropolis Armageddon is just a sprocket away.

You know sometimes when you hear about a movie that's so absurd in its premise that you just can't resist talking about it and seeking it out? We get the feeling that for most of you (sans the easily offended) Race War will be one of those flicks!

Remember the Steven Spielberg who brought us Jaws? The same one who brought us Duel and Poltergeist? That's the filmmaker we love.

I swear I didn't think this day was ever going to come. I remember first reporting on the Adrian Paul/Danny Trejo killer robot flick Eyeborgs back in 2005, and ever since we would go long periods of time before hearing anything new. Five years later Eyeborgs will finally be coming home to a DVD player near you this summer.

Steven Spielberg has been actively involved in the sci-fi genre for years so it’s no surprise to learn that he may be considering stepping behind the cameras for another invasion flick. This time, though, it’s not aliens that are hell bent on obliterating mankind, but killer robots.
