Robert Eggers has wished us all a happy holiday with the news that his highly anticipated adaption of Nosferatu is slated for release on December 25, 2024, from Focus Features. Yes, that is more than a year away, but at least we have a date!

Eggers directed and wrote the script, which is described as “a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.”

Of course, the Nosferatu cast is stacked with star power. Bill Skarsgård reigns as our kill of creepy as he takes on the role of the titular vampire. Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe also star in the film.

In a recent interview with Empire, Eggers teased Skarsgård’s performance as the main villain, saying, “I’ll say that Bill has so transformed, I’m fearful that he might not get the credit that he deserves because he’s just… he’s not there.”

Peter Kujawski, Chairman of Focus Features, stated, “The audacious filmmaking of Robert Eggers is always a gift for fans, and we can promise that his Nosferatu is planning quite the Christmas feast.”

Eggers also serves as a producer alongside Chris Columbus, Eleanor Columbus, Jeff Robinov, and John Graham.
