Despite the fact the The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (review) is being hailed as the absolute dumbest of the trilogy so far (which is really saying something for this particular series), that’s not stopping director Rob Cohen from already discussing plans for Mummy 4. **Spoiler warning if you’ve not seen The Mummy 3**

Excited about The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor? Come on! You know roller coasters are lots of fun, and that's what this flick looks to be all about -- adrenaline based thrills! Besides, it has Yetis. True, they're CGI Yetis, but damnit, they're Yetis nonetheless.

Rob Cohen caught up with the B-D boys recently to chat about his latest film, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and dropped some potentially disturbing news about the 1987 classic The Monster Squad.

I finally saw the full trailer for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor this weekend on the big screen, the way it was meant to be seen, and I gotta say it doesn’t look as bad as I’d feared. I mean, really, it’s a Mummy movie; as long as it’s fun, it’ll be worth the ticket.

Our man Hunter just pointed out that director Rob Cohen’s updated his ongoing Mummy 3 blog with a status on the film, which is due to hit theaters August 1st. Believe it or not, everything has to be done on the film, at least on his end by July 3rd, but it’s not quite there yet.

Even though I’d like to tell myself that the upcoming Mummy sequel directed by Rob Cohen isn’t something that really fits well with Dread Central, we all know that’s not the case. Even if it is just an action-adventure film with CG monsters, we’re all still going to see it opening weekend, aren’t we? Yes, yes we are.

Not that it’s ever been in much question, but a little official information never hurts. Variety announced this morning that Brendan Fraser has just signed the deal to return to his role as Rick O’Connell in the upcoming Rob Cohen-helmed Mummy 3. A bit suprising is the word that Rachel Weisz, who played his wife Evelyn, will not be coming back on board. But then, she has other work lined up...

Does the world need another Mummy movie? Especially one directed by the mad genius behind The Fast and the Furious? Universal seems to think so! If the report that showed up over on TMZ are true, that is.

It’s been rumored for a long time now that eventually someone would bring us another Mummy movie, though God knows most of us didn't ask for one after The Mummy Returns failed to exactly set hearts and minds on fire, but then we’re not the ones in charge, are we? No... not yet...
