Hypnotic Eye, The (DVD)

It has happened to us all. You see a movie when you're a kid and something about it becomes ingrained upon you. Imprinted like the bond between a new kitten and its owner. There's just one problem ... you never know the friggin' movie's name. You search for years. Asking. Describing. Combing through an endless amount of movies that it could be; yet, ultimately when push comes to shove, you come up empty-handed.
Such was the case with our own Woman in Black and this flick. All she knew was that the movie she couldn't remember had a scene in which a girl was washing her hair when her head caught fire. Accidentally enough The Foywonder sent us over a movie that had the trailer for The Hypnotic Eye as a lead-in, and don't you know the scene was there in all of its glory! Mystery solved! Angels singing!
Now through the wonder of the veritable treasure trove that is the Warner Archive, The Hypnotic Eye is here in all of its ever-so-bizarre newly remastered detail.
The story is simple. Authorities are baffled as women all over the city are engaging in grisly and sometimes deadly acts of self-mutilation such as setting themselves on fire, drinking lye, getting too close to some nasty fan blades, and even taking sulfuric acid face baths because who doesn't keep deadly flesh-searing liquids right next to their soap? The main suspect is a popular hypnotist who can seemingly make anyone do anything. But what for? What is his secret? We won't spoil it for you, but oh, brother ...
Also making this a MUST OWN movie for fans of old horror flicks is the fact that The Hypnotic Eye is the FIRST and ONLY movie ever to be filmed in HypnoMagic™: The Thrill You SEE and FEEL!, which gives you, the viewer, "the opportunity to cross the dark, mysterious threshold of your own unconscious mind." This is a true sight to behold, and believe me when I tell you that the final ten minutes of this ridiculous in every kick-ass way imaginable masterpiece of Fifties schlock is the stuff B-movie fans dream about!
Once again, this is a Warner Archive title. All titles released under that banner are made to order and not mass produced. As a result, once you order, you don't get an "official" DVD, just a DVD-R in a nifty box, so if you have a player that has problems playing that type of disc, you may want to steer clear. Even more unfortunate, we get no extras whatsoever. Not even a chapter select. Still, how could you possibly go wrong by having this long lost gem at your fingertips any time you want it?
Don't hesitate another moment. If you're a classic horror fan, you NEED this in your collection like yesterday. Don't believe me? Then look into my eyes ... you're getting sleepy. You're falling deeper ... deeper into a sound, quiet sleep. All you can hear is the sound of my voice. When I snap my fingers, you will click the link below and order yourself a copy of this movie ASAP. Do you understand? Good.
