Everyone checking in on social media has encountered them: the internet troll – that unfeeling, insensitive miscreant who feels their life has some sort of meaning by throwing down hurtful insults and demeaning comments at users who post online. Well, what if the opportunity arose to get these bottom-feeders back…painfully?
Marc Fratto’s ultra-entertaining 17-minute short film, Don’t Feed The Troll puts us next to the keyboard of a hate-spewing lowlife (Iacono) whose sole mission is to spit racist and homophobic venom at people online, and when the troll meets his match (and a rather creepy one, at that), you can rest assured that there will be one less keyboard warrior on this planet to contend with. Fratto’s use of current societal woes works wonders here, and the amusing portrayal of a computer tough-guy by Iacono is the stuff of legend here – we all have dealt with these people, and it feels so good to see the impending comeuppance. Feel free to give this one a look when you get the chance, and don’t be afraid of the blue-screen-of-death when it pops up on your laptop…that is, unless you’ve managed to summon the troll.
