Halls of Horror, located in Palmerton, PA is by far one of the most innovative, cutting-edge mature haunted attractions in the tristate area which is for fans who are looking for a horror movie come to life. Halls of Horror is an emotionally draining, psychologically scarring yet constantly entertaining all-out assault on one’s senses. This attraction is not for children, or those who are easily offended. Halls of Horror, is almost indescribable in its ability to generate real “fear”, yet never crosses the line between an “extreme” haunt and all-out assault. “Extreme” haunts seem to be using violence and torture to garner their reputations yet these experiences are not exactly entertaining. Halls of Horror is the perfect balance between “extreme” and “traditional/classic” haunted attractions as while physical, they are extremely professional in how they operate their attraction. At times we felt as if we were fighting for our survival, we were covered in “blood” and subjected to acts of terror that have once again left a lasting impact on our psyche.

Halls of Horror is the innovator in the extreme/mature haunt scene in the northeast, and continues to push the limits of fear. This attraction is for adult/mature audiences and utilizes physical and psychological terror to create non-stop fear. While aggressive, physically, and mentally exhausting, the Halls of Horror is extremely safe and well-managed. We have never experiences such a memorable haunted attraction that does not rely on gimmicks or high priced animatronics to generate fear. Twisted humor, physicality and psychological torture is combined in such a theatrical manner that creates a constant reminder of what haunts can be if driven by passion and dedication to creating true visceral fear. The actors of the attraction are relentless in their efforts to bring twisted characters to life, and create an unforgettable horror experience. Halls of Horror is a must visit this season for any serious Halloween or haunt fan.

What to Look for in 2016

Each year the Halls of Horror adds sets, and new scares to its intense haunted attraction experience. If you are able to, chose the “Blood Experience” option for a unique, intense and personal experience that will not be forgotten.

The “Blood Experience” provides guests with a white souvenir t-shirt, and guarantees that your party will enter and leave the attraction by yourself. The regular Halls of Horror attraction is reconfigured for the “Blood Experience”, and the white shirts are a clear give away that you are a target. Throughout each corridor, guests will experience violent imagery and the most intense/aggressive actors you will find in any haunted attraction. This encounter is not for the weak of heart, and is a psychologically and physically exhausting experience. The Halls of Horror’s Blood Experience is recommended for those who are looking for an intense, hardcore adult experience that manufactures true fear.

Halls of Horror “Blood Experience” continues to serve as the template for which larger haunted attractions seem to be jumping aboard on the extreme haunt train. This attraction is driven by passionate scare actors, and talented designers who never rest in creating a nightmare. This is not the prototypical “extreme” haunt as the level of physicality, and psychological terror is set upon the backdrop of some of the most disturbingly designed set pieces of any attraction. Non-stop surprises and outright brutality, in a safe controlled chaos manner make this one of the very best attractions ever visited. They have forever changed how we view haunted attractions and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
