Ok, so let me get this out of the way immediately as it's no secret ... the Resident Evil live action films have kind of sucked. We love Milla and all, but come on! Where's all the zombie action we've been craving? Sony Pictures is hoping to give fans exactly what they've been missing with the upcoming CGI animated feature Resident Evil: Degeneration, and I gotta say that things look promising!

"Wolf" dropped us a note today that says Game Trailers snatched up the newest promo piece for Sony Picture's upcoming Resident Evil: Degeneration, which was shown at this year's Tokyo Game Show. Check out the trailer below and click here for rest of our coverage on the movie.

In a move that has started to heal the anguish Paul W.S. Anderson left with all his Resident Evil silliness, Capcom and Sony Home Entertainment are making it all better by giving us a true RE movie! Degeneration reunites Claire and Leon in a battle against more t-virus infected deadies inside an airport.

Resident Evil: Degeneration (official site) is going to pick up the pieces the three live-action films left behind. First of all, this new story looks to be skipping the Paul Anderson BS all together and second, some familiar faces from the game are finally joining the battle against the T-Virus.

If you're lucky enough to be going to the San Diego Comic Con this year, you'll get to see footage from the upcoming Resident Evil CGI flick Degeneration. The rest of us will just have to make do with a website and trailer.
